"And I longed to be holy more than I longed to be anything else." -- this line is everything. This line is the concept that people that mock religious trauma don't understand. They think trauma is abuse or exclusion, they don't understand the scars and pain of this simple pain. It's why religious survivors have this kinship that can't be expressed or understood unless you've been through it too. The older I get and the more I understand about the Bible, I am truly stumped at where this notion comes from and why it is so heavy handed when it's taught to us. Glad as hell you survived.

1. I think I need that cake recipe. 2. This post was perfect, start to finish. Way to lay a spread.
