Phone Calls with Emily
I love phone calls from my sister. They are always random. They almost always make me laugh. They are full of life and hope and silliness and kindness and an obscene amount of faith. And I get them everyday. Good thing, too. My days would be pretty bleak without them. Here are some highlights over the last year to brighten your holiday season.
"Hey, Jen- are lambs in the sheep family?"
"Lambs are just baby sheep, Emily."
"WHAT?!?! Oh no! Now I can't eat them. That's so sad. I really liked lamb."
"You know how everyone always makes big new years resolutions that they can't keep? I'm not doing that. You know what my new years resolution is this year?"
"What, Em."
"I'm going to drink more soda."
"Have you seen Marcel the Shell?"
"No."
"Go on youtube."
"Can't right now."
"Go on it and call me back."
20 minutes later...
"My only regret in life is that I'll never own a dog."
"Hahaha, wait, what? Was that in the first one or the second one?"
"There's two? You only said one."
"Go watch the second one and call me back."
"I can't! I'm in the car."
Click.
"I think I missed my calling as a cake decorator." - at 7 a.m. in the morning.
"Do you really want a maid for Christmas or were you just kidding? Because I wanted to get you one but they're really expensive and I could only afford, like, an hour, and that's just stupid to hire a maid for an hour. So, were you kidding?"
Merry Christmas, sister! :)
