What a lovely set of Mothers and a lovely way to think and write about them! I love some of these and am now curious about the others. I would add bell hooks (All About Love, or anything else, really) and Tarana Burke (Unbound).

You've included some of my favorites here (Kate & Shauna!), and I'd add Liz Charlotte Grant (I want to read her newest, Knock at the Sky, and Amanda Held Opelt, who is an incredible writer in her own right; her sister, the late Rachel Held Evans, is also someone I learn so much from still. And one of my all-time favorite middle grade novels is "Orphan Island" by Laurel Snyder. SOOOO good!
